Duck Marsh Mixis a mix including Japanese millet and native moist soil annuals designed specifically to attract and hold waterfowl in moist soil managed areas. Plant this mix to establish a desired moist soil environment where natural vegetation is lacking or where undesirables have taken over. This blend does well in moist and wet soils providing lots of seed and readily volunteers for following seasons. For best results, broadcast on a prepared moist seedbed early to mid-summer after a slow drawdown of the standing water. Flood to a depth of 6-18 inches of water after maturation.
NOTE: The manipulation of any crop during its first planting season is considered baiting for waterfowl and is illegal. Since this mix is comprised of natural reseeding annuals, manipulation by mowing or disking is allowed during the following years. This allows you to manage the vegetation and provide the shallow moist soil areas that puddle ducks prefer while also aiding in reseeding.
