Large Lad RR™ soybeans are our most popular food plot variety and are known for the excellent seed yield and tonnage production. Large Lad plants can reach heights up to 84 inches and provide excellent forage for deer and cattle. Easy to grow, with resistance to many foliar diseases, root rots, stem canker and races of nematodes, they are widely adapted to numerous soil types, and will withstand harsher growing conditions than regular soybeans. I’ve planted these for three years and am extremely pleased with the results I get. I’m in mid Michigan and plant around the first weekend in June. They usually sprout up in a week and seem to grow slowly until mid to late July after that providing the rain cooperates they grow like weeds. Because of the slow growth early it requires two treatments of glyphosate as I don’t cultivate them at all. I plant 36” rows dictated by my antique planter with 16-16-16 fertilizer and my plants average 45” in height. Definitely recommend these for food plots as the deer love them. Bean pods aren’t real big but mid winter there isn’t a spot in the field that doesn’t have a track in it.
