Aeschynomene or American Joint Vetch, is a summer annual legume native to the Southeastern U.S. Joint Vetch is commonly used for forage and hay production and is a great planting for wildlife food plots. Joint Vetch is a reseeding annual that does well in all soil types and will handle areas of higher moisture. It is a moderately to highly preferred forage by wildlife and produces great tonnage. Establishment of Joint Vetch can be slow but it shines as a wildlife planting creating great brooding habitat and lots of tonnage for forage.
