Maris Kestrel Kale is a full maturity leafy kale variety with short low-fiber stems, its high protein and high digestibility makes it very suitable for wildlife. Kestrel can be used to extend the grazing season in food plots as the cool season ends. It has good cold tolerance making it perfect for late season forage well into the fall months providing a perfect food source in the early fall hunting season. The kale greens are never bitter, and after hard fall frost become very sweet making them highly desirable and a favorite forage for deer, ideal for their critical high carbohydrate fall diet. Kale prefers a pH of 5.5 to 7.0.
